Fond memories here-in contained,
a lifetime's treasure told,
As thought by thought you travel back;
life's content, burnished gold!
Two souls apart, the North and South,
did yearn, together feast;
They came together in the West,
then married in the East.
In nineteen thirty seven starts,
the life that they embraced;
Two strangers came and pitched a tent,
in her, God's word found place.
She shared with him here on the Coast,
another love found he,
He soon possessed the truth she shared,
together He, and She!
And then in nineteen forty nine,
she traveled, crossed our land;
To Washington, where he gave her,
that golden wedding band.
Together they, then lived and worked,
constant; the bond was true,
In '53; found back out west,
a son born at Port Hue'!
Back east again in '54,
another son soon came;
Two faithful parents, with two sons,
to bear our Father's name.
And through the years as trials came,
one thing above the rest,
The Love of God would guide this home;
His holy will is best.
And moving on, for none may stay,
forever in one place,
New Jersey on to Norfolk,
then to Cuba for a space.
From there a home in Illinois,
or four to be exact,
Another cruise aboard a ship,
out west soon brought them back.
Back to the home of '53,
which waited on the sand,
Then on to seven forty six,
and now it's Houston planned.
Live for others, for by this creed,
the Love of God is known,
Examples true: Dear Mom and Dad;
our thanks for all you've shown.
